"The Scout Centenary:
The Catholic Scouting Tradition"

This year celebrates the centenary of the Scouting movement, founded by Robert Baden-Powell. Scouting Ireland is the National Scout Association for Ireland. It was formed on 1st January 2004 from the two original Scout associations in Ireland, Scouting Ireland S.A.I. and the Catholic Scouting Ireland (CSI). More information at www.scouts.ie

The Rev. J. A. Gaughan, who comes from County Kerry, is a writer and editor of several books on Irish history, biography and genealogy.

A small exhibition in support of the lecture was on view in the library.
